We get asked many question,
some of the more common ones are below - if you have a question,
please email them to tools@burgewood.com.au
- Should we use Microsoft 2007?
While this is a choice you and / or your company needs to
make; however, from a Excel user's perspective I would recommend
you wait. Excel 2007 is an excellent product but it has significant
differences with other recent versions of Excel. These differences
will make any older versions you may have developed or purchased
over the past 6 or 7 years potential in operable.
This would mean the cost of using Excel 2007 is not just
the program, but also the re-development / purchase of all
Excel programs you currently use. It would also mean re-training
all your personnel and IT department (who would need to support
Excel2007)
- Does this type of software improve my 'Carbon
Footprint'?
The use of software to predict laoding profiles to maximise
axle weights legally before a single kilogram is loaded means
more effective and efficient loading; this leads to less overall
loads and so on. Using productivity tools (that work) means
reduced carbon loading and therefore is benefitial to the
environment
- What happens if the regulations change? Do I have
to get all new software?
We design our software to be as simple and as flexible as
possibel. Our support systems are also designed to maximise
the help and assistance we can provide our customers. If the
regulations change, for instance increase mass limits on steer
axles or different driving hours for fatigue management, our
systems will be upgraded to the new regulations without charge
to our customers. Our support will also play a role in re-training
your personnel.
- Why do you ask for a monthly payment rather than
a one hit payment
We have worked in the industry for more than 20 years, we
know what it is like to buy something that costs heaps only
to find out it does do what we were told it would do. We also
know what it is like to have to go through every level of
company management to get approval from everyone to use something
that should be a commonsence action.
By doing it on a month by month basis, it gives you a change
to try it, if it works for you then you can keep using it.
If you don't like it then stop using it and you only out of
pocket one months rate which could be just a gew hundred dollars
rather than the total cost of many thousands of dollars.
- What are the issues with GPS to comply with Fatigue
Management?
see

- What are my basic responsibilities for COR?
The basic company responsibilites are to have policies and
procedures that are auditable that prove your company complies
with COR - in essence this means collecting, validating and
auditing relevant information to confirm the proof of compliance.
Your customers also need to be able to prove your compliance
(as well as theirs); this means they also have a need to audit
your COR systems COR1
